Ernst emigrated to the United States in 1890, following his brother August and uncle Friedrich who arrived in 1870.
We know Ernst married Louise Clara in 1893. The wedding photograph suggests that the couple were wearing "hand-me-downs". A style of clothing popular in the 1870's
Ernst worked as a dockworker before moving his family to the west coast. The trail all but disappears although we do know Louise Clara and their daughter, Elizabeth were admitted into The Jewish Consumption Hospital in Monrovia, Los Angeles. Louise's gravesite can be found in Monrovia.
Ernst and Louise had three boys, yet there are no Buermeyers on the west coast. Did they alter their surname? Burmeyer? Bermeyer?
