Buermeyer was Associate Director of Education at the Barnes Foundation,
a private art collection and educational institution founded by Albert
Coombs Barnes, inventor of a throat medication Argyrol, in Merion, Pennsylvania
and worked under John Dewey, then Director. He
was the author of 'The Aesthetic Experience', Barnes Foundation 1924,and
'An Introduction to Reflective Thinking', London Constable & Co
