Henrietta (May) Buermeyer

I don't know a lot about May (Henrietta) Buermeyer but I can pass along information courtesy of George Buermeyer:

"I forgot that I had come across this very elegant portrait of May Buermeyer, "Mrs. Edmund F. Harding", some time ago. It is a wood engraving by Henry Wolf [1852-1916] and so must have been done around 1910-1916.
Edmund Harding was a lawyer. He and his parents lived at 134 Van Dyke st in Redhook, Brooklyn. Ernst & Louisa Buermeyer lived at 130 Van Dyke; Charles and Phebe Buermeyer started out at 145 Van Dyke. Phebe's mother Mary Brill lived at 424 Van Brunt st, just around the corner. So the neighbors were "all in the family"! The Hardings and Buermeyers moved on to St Johns Place in Park Slope next to Prospect Park. By 1930, Edmund & May were at 78 Irving Place, Gramercy Park, in Manhattan - VERY posh!"
